Virtanen learned Jack Squat in AHL

You have to laugh at these "media" guys on TSN1040 and Sportsnet650 claiming Jake Virtanen learned a lot under Travis Green.

In order to believe this you have to suspend your sense of reality.

Here's the problem - if Virtanen had been given a chance by Willy Desjardens in 2016 instead of WD torpedoing a season for the Canucks and losing Tryamkin along the way, he would have figured it out anyways.

Look, here's the deal.

Anybody in any walk of life, unless they're unlike 99% of the population, will walk into a job, and after a few days realize, holy crap, I've got a lot to learn.

In other words after 20 games of being too heavy Virtanen would have figured it out on his own.

Now, like Tryamkin, he could have played himself into shape.

He could have hit the gym for extra work to lose the pounds.

And so the argument of "He went to the AHL and learned to work hard" is a complete line of shit.

And then of course we don't know if Virtanen could have played at 228 pounds. He might have been just fine.

Reality - Anton Rodin won the Most Valuable Player award in the Swedish Elite League.

Reality - Anton Rodin can't play in the NHL. The Swedish Elite League is an absolute shitty league and Canucks fans should be concerned because that's where their 5th overall pick, Elias Petterrson is playing and dying in.

If you can't play in the Swedish Meatball League, a no hit, no touchie, big ice, shinny game, then you sure as shit can't play in the NHL.

Where should Petterrson be playing? The answer is for another organization. What the hell were they thinking?

If you think Petterrson is going to excel in the AHL - take a gander at Dahlin's kid who the Canucks traded Alexander Burrows for.
