Resigning Gudbranson - a priority !

Analytics - go shove it up your arse.

Canucks need to resign Erik Gudbranson for whatever it takes financially.

Period. End of story. Stop the nonsense about trading him.

And what's the big plan to replace him?

He's a third overall pick with great size and speed who can hit and fight.

If the Canucks coaching staff can't find the right fit for him in their system - THEN CHANGE THE COACHING STAFF AND THE SYSTEM !!

The defensive system has to be structured AROUND Gudbranson.

If you don't have a right fit for a third overall pick - then you're doing something wrong in the coaching department.

As I said in the summer of 2017 - hiring Travis Green as head coach was a stupid mistake. He can't coach. He hasn't proven he can coach. He hasn't won anything as a coach. He hasn't developed any players as a coach.

Suggestion? Get a coach. Dave Tippett is a good start. Or Daryl Sutter.
They're both available.

You think they wouldn't tailor a system around this big guy? Of course they would.

Florida loved the guy. He's a big time playoff performer when the rules are thrown out the window and the rodeo returns.

Want to win a Stanley Cup? Gudbranson's a good start.

Add a Tryamkin and another big body back there - now you're headed in the right direction.

The NHL is moving to smaller faster players my arse.
Have you see the Tampa Bay Lightning? Biggest blue line in the NHL.
225 pounders back there.

Clearing the net. Busting chops. Physical play.
Coached by the way by a guy from Prince George.
Hit. Fight. Physical play.
That's Gudbranson's forte.

Go to Russia. Find a Democratic Senator to take you - they're all communist and halfway up a Russian's arse anyways so they know who to pay off - and get Nikita Tryamkin back on the team.

If you can't be talented, and God knows the Canucks can't, at least be big and tough. It's something. It doesn't take a break on road trips.

And who do the Canucks have coming in their blueline system?
No one.

Nobody. Nothing. Zip.

Maybe if they had drafted Mikhael Sergachev instead of Juolevi then they'd have a guy on the blueline right now (225 pounds and skates like a deer). But they didn't. They drafted a squirt.
Now they got nobody coming on the blueline after 5 years of top end draft picks.

So you don't let Gudbranson go when you got nothing to replace him with.

Stop the bleeding. Third overall pick. Change your system to big guys on the blueline. Start heading back to the Canuck way - being hard to play against.
